This Yidaki aims to honour the artist’s homeland as well as speaking towards the importance of remaining connected to country. The strong orange base is a depiction of Dubbo (Thubbo) and the Red Earth that the place is named after. The river through the middle represents the Macquarie, the primary river through the town, a water source, fishing spot and place of play for many that grew up in the area. The two Gugaars or Goannas, speak to the young and the old. The larger one representing the history of the place and those who have come before whilst the smaller shows the exciting period of growth for those who are growing up from within the place.
